Research Interest

Knowledge of crops physiology is important to guide breeding. We tried to obtain crops suitable for food that come from plants with good yield and resistance to biotic and abiotic stress.

In this context we are developing a project in Lupin on α-galactosides of the raffinose family. These sugars present in legume seeds are important for plant resistance to different types of stress but induce flatulence in monogastric animals.
Our goal is to evaluate the role of α-galactosides in different tissues of lupine to anticipate the consequences of breeding plants for low level of these sugars.
